A-22 | Gender Disparities in Periprocedural Complications After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Chronic Total Occlusions

چکیده
Several studies have reported on gender differences in the risk of periprocedural complications after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) chronic total occlusions (CTOs). The purpose this meta-analysis is to evaluate CTO-PCI based gender. A literature search was conducted for reporting CTO PCI Clinical endpoints included embolic cerebral vascular accident (CVA), tamponade requiring pericardiocentesis, intra-operative perforation, occurrence major bleed, and complications. following databases: Ovid MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web Science, Google Scholar. not restricted time or publication status. 8 with 7814 patients who underwent (1609 females, 6205 males) met inclusion criteria. Female had significantly higher all secondary compared male (CVA OR 3.67, 95% CI 1.55-8.70; p<0.01; Tamponade 2.70, 1.40-5.24; Coronary Perforation 5.18, 3.76-7.15; Major Bleed 2.43, 1.50-3.93; p<0.01). There no significant difference perioperative females males (OR 1.43, 0.68-3.02; p=0.34). undergo similar rates complications, however CVA, bleeding events.

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Chronic Total Occlusions
I mpasses are common in everyday life. When they occur in coronary arteries as chronic total occlusions (CTOs), they may be difficult to treat. Successful treatment of CTOs sometimes requires a nonconformist approach based on “negative thinking,” which is described in philosophical circles as the mindset that “negates” the possibility of failure and replaces it with the potentiality of success ...

more technically challenging than twodimensional echocardiography and this is of particular importance in the CRT patient. Image acquisition requires a significant breath hold which is often difficult for the heart failure patient. Several regular cardiac beats are required and this is not always possible due to the presence of ectopy or atrial fibrillation. The large ventricular volumes seen i...

A 67-year-old man with coronary artery disease and previous coronary underwent successful Guideliner reverse CART percutaneous coronary intervention of a chronic total occlusion of the right coronary artery. C hronic total coronary occlusions (CTOs) represent one of the final frontiers in the evolution of revascularization with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Although CTO revascularization relieves symptoms, reduces ischemic burden, improves left ventricular systolic function, and attenuates remodeling, convincing proof of improved survival remains elusive (1–3). Ongoing randomized trials...
متن کاملPredictors of successful percutaneous coronary intervention in chronic total coronary occlusions
INTRODUCTION Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of chronic total coronary occlusions (CTOs) is one of the most challenging procedures of interventional cardiology and is associated with increased risk of significant complications. However, debate continues in regard to which factors adversely influence the success rate of PCI and whether the benefits of revascularization of CTO outweigh t...
